How is ABP, AFFP, GFL, ATFAP and AFDL different? Explanation of confusing terms

So many similar words

Okay. So we have ABP which stands for ArenaBall Philippines, we also have AFFP which stands for American Football Federation of the Philippines, another one is ATFAP which is American Tackle Football Association of the Philippines, GFL is Gridiron Football League Philippines, AFDL American Football Developmental League and NGLP National Gridiron League Pilipinas. There are so many groups related to american football in the Philippines and almost all are the same for the average filipino eyes. What sets each of these group and members apart?

Pilipinas Aguilas to compete on 2015 IFAF World Chanpionship

The Pilipinas Aguilas will be competing on the 2015 IFAF World Championship being hosted by Sweden. Philippines will be fighting against Japan on April 26, 2014 at Japan (no information unto which city in Japan the game will happen).
IFAF stands for International Federation of American Football
There are a total of 12 team that will be joining the preliminary round and will be divided into 4 groups.

ABP (ArenaBall Philippines) League Teams

Im not sure but you've probably heard about Arena Ball Philippines? They're one of the leagues that popularized American Football, or Tackle Football, or Gridiron Football (what ever you call this sport) here in the Philippines. American football in the Philippines

Way back in 2009 were the ArenaBall Philippines (ABP) introduce the first American Football (tackle football) league in the country. It started with only four participating teams, "The Bandits", "The Juggernauts", "The Wolves" and "The Rebels" (former "The Barracudas"). ABP Season 4 opened last September 21, 2013 introducing new expansion team "The Knights". ABP Season 4 ended February 15, 2014 with the reigning 4-time Champion "The Bandits".

ABP is under The American Tackle Football Association of the Philippines (ATFAP), a member of Philippine Olympic Committee (POC), and a member of the International Federation of American Football (IFAF).

Pilipinas Aguilas Team - teaser video

Founded in 2013. The Philippines National American Football Team or Pilipinas Aguilas Tackle Football team was formed to compete in the international stage of American Football.  The entire Aguilas team is composed of 75 high performing players (combination of Team A and Team B). Some are from the different teams of ABP League (Bandits, Wolves, Rebels, Juggernauts and Knights) and some are not part of the league, who tried out and successfully got in.

Introducing Tackle Football Philippines


Tackle Football Philippines is a new blog dedicated to being the best resource and aggregator of information about American Football here in the Philippines. Tackle Football Philippines is founded February 2014 by two individuals who shares the same mission of promoting the sport in the country and the vision of becoming the primary resource of information with regards to American Football or Tackle Football. One of the individual is a player of one of the teams participating in ABP (Arenaball Philippines) and the other one is a techie guy who have experience in creating website and the nitty-gritty of running one.

American football is fairly new and becoming a trend sport here in the Philippines, thus we are committed to bringing the latest news, the best football product reviews, upcoming game schedules, and any information in between.
